Sav Partners with Visa for Exclusive Card Network Across the UAE and Saudi Arabia

UAE-based consumer fintech Sav has entered into an exclusive five-year partnership with Visa to serve as the card network partner for its operations in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The agreement is designed to support Sav’s product expansion, particularly as the company prepares to broaden its offerings into credit and multi-currency products.

Under the deal, Sav’s entire card portfolio will be powered by Visa. The integration is expected to give users access to Visa’s global merchant acceptance network, along with benefits from Visa’s rewards programme. Sav also said cardholders will receive cashback on both domestic and international spending.

The partnership comes as Sav continues to build a broader consumer finance platform that combines spending, saving, investing and physical gold ownership. The company also plans to introduce future products such as multi-currency cards, aimed at serving globally mobile users across the region.

Features and User Experience

Sav’s current card offering allows users to top up instantly from existing bank accounts. The platform also includes spending controls, real-time transaction monitoring, and the ability to freeze or unfreeze cards immediately. These features are positioned to give customers greater visibility and control over their day-to-day spending.

According to Sav co-founder and CEO Purvi Munot, the partnership with Visa is intended to combine global acceptance with everyday rewards while the company continues developing what it describes as an intelligent financial platform.

“Through our partnership with Visa, we are combining global acceptance with meaningful everyday rewards, while continuing to build an intelligent financial platform that helps users spend, save and grow their wealth more effectively,” Munot said.

Munot also noted that Sav intends to launch a credit card offering in the future, subject to regulatory approvals.

Visa’s leadership in the UAE said the collaboration reflects growing demand for secure and digitally enabled payment experiences in the region. Salima Gutieva, Vice President and Country Manager for Visa in the UAE, said consumers are increasingly looking for seamless payment solutions.

“Consumers across the region are increasingly seeking secure, seamless and digitally enabled payment experiences,” Gutieva said. “By combining Visa’s global network, innovation capabilities and trusted security with Sav’s customer-centric approach, we look forward to supporting the next phase of growth.”

Industry Analysis

The agreement highlights the continued momentum in the Gulf’s digital payments sector, where consumer fintechs are expanding beyond basic card products to offer more integrated financial services. For Sav, an exclusive network partnership with Visa provides scale, credibility and access to a global acceptance infrastructure as it seeks to deepen customer acquisition in both the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

The move also signals growing competition among regional fintechs to combine payments, wealth management and future credit products within a single platform. If Sav successfully launches its planned offerings, the company could strengthen its position among consumers seeking convenient, multi-functional financial tools across borders.

At the same time, the emphasis on credit and multi-currency capabilities suggests increasing demand for financial products tailored to internationally active users in the Middle East. Sav’s roadmap indicates that the company is positioning itself for this segment as it continues to expand its services under the new Visa partnership.
