FAB and Presight Host Virtual AI Agentathon to Advance Enterprise AI Solutions

First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) has hosted a virtual AI Agentathon in collaboration with Presight, with support from Microsoft, as part of its broader digital transformation strategy. The one-day initiative brought together cross-functional teams to develop artificial intelligence solutions for defined business challenges across the bank.

According to FAB, the event was designed to help accelerate the practical application of AI across its operations by combining business insight, technical expertise, and external technology support. Participants included internal and external stakeholders working in teams to create AI-based concepts aimed at improving enterprise processes and decision-making.

The Agentathon gathered four cross-functional teams made up of FAB business and technology staff, alongside experts from Microsoft and Presight. Throughout the session, the teams worked on predefined challenges and presented their ideas for evaluation at the end of the day.

A joint panel representing the participating organisations assessed the final submissions. The concepts were reviewed based on their expected impact, feasibility, and alignment with FAB’s business priorities.

FAB said artificial intelligence is a core part of its long-term strategy and a key enabler of its transition into a more data-driven organisation. The bank’s approach focuses on scaling AI in a structured and responsible way, with emphasis on use cases that can support decision-making, improve efficiency, and enhance client experience.

The bank expects the ideas generated during the virtual sprint to inform future AI initiatives and wider enterprise use cases. FAB also said the exercise will contribute to its broader digital transformation agenda by helping it identify practical applications that can be developed further across the organisation.

Through programmes such as the Agentathon, FAB aims to broaden the use of AI across its operations and speed up solution development. The initiative also underscores the bank’s position within the region’s growing AI-driven banking landscape.

Industry Analysis

The FAB-Presight Agentathon reflects a wider trend among financial institutions in the Gulf region: moving beyond AI experimentation toward structured enterprise deployment. By involving both technology partners and business teams in a rapid innovation format, banks can test ideas more efficiently and identify use cases with direct operational value.

For the banking sector, this model suggests a shift toward collaborative AI development, where practical business outcomes and responsible scaling are prioritised. As institutions continue to invest in digital transformation, initiatives like this may become increasingly important for building internal capability and accelerating the adoption of AI across core banking functions.
