Bitcoin Suisse Receives ADGM Approval to Offer Crypto Services in the UAE
Swiss crypto financial services provider Bitcoin Suisse has secured a Financial Services Permission from Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), advancing its expansion into the United Arab Emirates through its Middle East subsidiary, BTCS Middle East. The approval follows an In-Principle Approval granted last year and marks a significant step in the firm’s growth strategy in the region.
The permission was issued by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) and enables BTCS Middle East to provide institutional digital asset services in a regulated environment. According to the company, the approval covers institutional custody, trading of approved virtual assets, and exposure management for professional clients in the UAE.
Institutional Digital Asset Services in a Regulated Framework
With the new licence in place, Bitcoin Suisse will be able to offer digital asset wealth management and custody services to institutional clients. The company said it will leverage the infrastructure and experience of its parent group, which has operated through multiple cycles in the digital asset market.
The group currently holds US$3.7 billion in crypto assets and is the fourth-largest staking provider globally, underscoring its scale in the international digital asset sector. BTCS Middle East is expected to use this background to support clients seeking regulated access to crypto markets.
The company also said it plans to help clients access tokenised real-world assets as the market continues to evolve. This suggests a broader strategy beyond traditional crypto custody and trading, with a focus on emerging digital asset use cases.
Abu Dhabi Strengthens Its Position as a Crypto Hub
The approval adds to Abu Dhabi’s growing reputation as a centre for regulated virtual asset activity. ADGM has positioned itself as an attractive jurisdiction for financial services firms seeking clear regulatory oversight and access to institutional markets.
Bitcoin Suisse’s move reflects a wider trend of established financial and crypto firms expanding in the UAE, where regulatory developments have continued to support digital asset adoption. The company’s entry into the market through an ADGM licence may also help reinforce confidence among institutional investors looking for compliant service providers.
Executive Commentary
Ceyda Majcen, Chief Executive Officer of BTCS Middle East, said receiving the FSP from the FSRA is a major milestone in the company’s international expansion strategy. She added that the authorisation recognises the firm’s decade of experience in developing risk frameworks and client infrastructure.
While Bitcoin Suisse has not disclosed additional rollout details, the approval places the firm among the licensed players operating in the UAE’s increasingly structured digital asset landscape.
Industry Analysis
The latest approval highlights how the UAE continues to attract established crypto firms seeking regulated market access in the Middle East. For institutional players, the combination of regulatory clarity and growing interest in digital assets may create stronger demand for custody, trading, and wealth management services.
It also signals increasing convergence between traditional financial services and tokenised asset infrastructure. As more firms enter ADGM under formal permissions, competition is likely to intensify around compliance, institutional-grade security, and product breadth.
