UAE Cyber Security Council Deploys Quantum-Safe Crypto Discovery Tool with QuantumGate

The UAE Cyber Security Council has partnered with QuantumGate to deploy the national Crypto Discovery Tool, an Abu Dhabi-built platform designed to support the country’s transition to quantum-safe security across critical national infrastructure.

According to the announcement, the tool is intended to automate the discovery of embedded cryptography across digital environments, helping organisations identify where cryptographic assets are in use and assess associated risks. The system provides a clearer inventory of cryptographic assets, which is considered an important step in preparing for potential threats linked to quantum computing.

The platform has been customised to meet the requirements of the UAE National Cryptography Center and is positioned as a key element of the broader UAE National Post-Quantum Migration Programme. Its deployment is aimed at supporting large-scale discovery and inventory management for entities operating in critical sectors.

In addition to asset discovery, the tool includes continuous monitoring capabilities, enabling organisations to maintain real-time visibility over their cryptographic environment and support compliance efforts. The platform’s modular compliance engine can also be updated as new post-quantum cryptography directives are issued.

Data collected through the tool will be integrated into the national cybersecurity ecosystem via the National Cybersecurity Index platform. Consolidated reporting across participating entities is expected to feed into the UAE National PQC Index, giving the Cyber Security Council broader visibility into the country’s overall cryptographic posture.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said the partnership with QuantumGate represents an important step in strengthening the UAE’s national cybersecurity posture against emerging quantum threats. He added that a sovereign capability such as this provides strategic control for a coordinated transition.

Dr. Najwa Aaraj, Chief Executive Officer of QuantumGate, said organisations cannot protect against risks they have not identified. She noted that the solution helps bring cryptographic risk into full view, enabling critical sectors to prepare before quantum threats become a reality.

Industry Analysis

The deployment of a national crypto discovery platform reflects a growing focus on post-quantum readiness in the UAE’s cybersecurity strategy. As quantum computing advances, legacy cryptographic systems may become more vulnerable, making visibility into existing encryption assets a foundational requirement for risk management.

By combining automated discovery, continuous monitoring, and national-level reporting, the initiative suggests a shift from reactive security practices toward structured quantum resilience planning. For organisations in critical infrastructure, this type of tool may become increasingly important as governments and regulators move toward post-quantum migration frameworks.

The announcement also highlights the role of sovereign technology capabilities in cybersecurity modernization. In this case, the UAE is not only preparing for future threats but also building domestic infrastructure to support long-term control, compliance, and coordination across sensitive sectors.
